The Star Behind the Name
Saiph takes its name from Kappa Orionis — the star known in Arabic as سيف الجبّار, the Sword of the Giant. It sits at the foot of Orion, 650 light years from Earth, burning eleven times hotter than our sun.
The word سيف — saif — means sword. One of the most recognised words in the Arabic language, carried from Morocco to Oman, from poetry to prayer. On every Saiph dial, it is the first thing you read.
The star mark appears on the crown, the caseback, and the clasp. The Arabic is the dial. The star is everything else.
"No one is born into a relationship with a watch. James Weston's horological heritage began with a moment of recognition — and that heritage is now Saiph."

The Mark System
سيف and SAIPH at equal weight, bracketed by gold hairlines. Arabic first. Latin second. Neither a subtitle to the other. The date disc carries Eastern Arabic numerals ١٢٣ — consistent with the dial language throughout.
Arabic and Latin alternate continuously around the inner bezel ring — سيف · SAIPH · سيف · SAIPH. The serial number appears in Eastern Arabic numerals at 6 o'clock. The star mark at 12. No other brand at this price point does this.
The 8-pointed star — derived from Kappa Orionis — appears on the crown (laser-engraved, not stamped), caseback, clasp, rotor, and packaging. κ ORIONIS · 650 LIGHT YEARS · JAMES WESTON · EST. 2025 is engraved inside every caseback.
Sapphire crystal always. Côtes de Genève rotor. Applied indexes, chamfered and mirror-polished at the edge. BGW9 lume pip at the seconds tip only. Push-button deployant clasp throughout. Second strap in every box.
Designed in London. Produced to a specification written by James Weston and approved on physical samples before bulk production begins. Named movements, documented finishes, signed off before despatch. The question asked of every component is not where it was made — but whether it is right.

The Craft
Every Saiph carries eighteen intentional details. Each one chosen with precision. Each one a signal — to the person wearing it, and to the person looking.
On the watch
Featured Detail
Arabic and Latin alternate continuously around the inner bezel ring. The serial number in Eastern Arabic numerals ٠٠٤٧ appears at 6 o'clock. The star mark at 12. A detail pioneered by Rolex, carried here in two languages. No other brand at £450–£895 does this.
The date reads ١٢٣ not 123. One factory specification line. No competitor at this price point carries this.
Parallel finishing lines on the oscillating weight, visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback. A finishing standard found on watches three times the price.
The star mark on the crown is laser-engraved to 0.1mm precision — not stamped. Crisp at any magnification. The collector's test.
κ ORIONIS · 650 LIGHT YEARS · JAMES WESTON · EST. 2025 engraved around the inner caseback. Read it with a loupe. It rewards the curious.
Lume pip at the tip of the seconds hand only — not flooded across all hands. Deliberate. Considered. Noticed by the right people.

The Founder's Detail
"You are the owner of Saiph number 0047."
Every Saiph leaves with a handwritten note from James Weston, numbered to match the serial on the caseback. No other brand does this. It is the detail people mention first when they show someone the watch.
The lid opens to reveal the star mark on the interior — not the watch. The brand presents itself first. The watch is the second reveal.
Navy lacquered rigid box. Cream suede interior. The second strap sits in a built-in right-zone recess alongside the watch — both revealed simultaneously.
Every Saiph ships with a second strap in the box. Two complete looks from one purchase. The push-button butterfly deployant clasp on every strap.
Stainless steel spring bar tool in a cream velvet sleeve with the star mark embroidered in gold thread. Communicates that nothing was an afterthought.
Three cards in a navy sleeve: holographic certificate of authenticity, κ Orionis brand story in Arabic and English, and a 2-year warranty. The brand experience continues after the sale.
Every detail considered. Every surface resolved.
A watch that rewards the person who looks closely.
